In the past, jewelry was considered part of the dowry that a woman received; today, education is the most precious gift that can be bequeathed to a person. 

Education is not accessible to everyone equally. I teach girls from disadvantaged areas to read and write. It is with the certainty and commitment of the mothers that these girls will receive this dowry that will allow them to escape poverty.
